We visited this right after dinner, and a few minutes after sunset. It was still light enough to walk the trail, except the first part that goes through dense forest, and I actually had to turn on my phone light.
The view was great after we came into the light again, but the trail continues out onto a bluff overlooking the ocean.
Apparently there are some other trail spurs, even down to the beach, but since it was getting dark, we did not go exploring. You can see the beach south of Lincoln City to the North, and there may be a trail down to it.

If you have some time to spare, this is a cute spot off the beaten path, that has great views. You could spend some time getting down to the beach, or just hang out on the relatively flat bluff.
