We've done this hike with family before. Not too far away, and pretty easy. There is a old barn that has been renovated for events, and is popular for weddings. When we got there, people were setting up for a wedding, but we were early. There parking lot by the bard is pretty small, but there is overflow parking by the road.
The trails remain open even if there is an event.
There are a few structures on this hike, like this old gazebo. It was great weather, but noticeably cooler on the forest trail. I even took off my sunglasses, it was so much darker.

There is an old car across the creek before you get to the bridge on the far side of the loop. It's pretty cool looking. A couple of our hikers went for a close look. Now for a limerick.
John was checking this really old car,
Took his knife scraping a bit too far.
You'll never guess what!
He got a small cut.
We hope he won't have a big scar.

John was fine. Luckily we had some hikers with first aid kits in their backpacks.
This part of the trail is more out in the open, although parts do go through forest, although not as lush as the other Plunkett Creek Loop.
There is an interpretive sign with all the birds we might see on the hike.
We did not see any birds.
This might be because we were mostly talking to each other as we hiked, and scared them away.
We did, however, see a lot of snakes.
No, I don't have any pictures of the snakes.
Our after hike meal was back in Dallas, at Forest Pass Brewing, where we had pizza, sandwiches and salad. And brews.
