We are heading to Yosemite next month, and are taking our little EV, instead of the truck, so this was a test of our new camping setup, including charging along the way. We didn't want to go too far, so we decided to try this park we were told about last year.

But first, we went to Road's End in Lincoln City. We could have gone down Kings Valley Hwy instead, but we had not been to the coast in a while, so we decided to have lunch at McMenamin's, and go for a walk.

The weather was great. No wind, comfortable in short sleeves, and the tide was going out, so we checked out the small tidepools and enjoyed ourselves.

To get to Moonshine Park, we turned off at Kernville, south of Lincoln City, and drove a narrow, windy road for almost an hour. But it was worth the drive.

Here is the view from our campsite. The sound of the river was very relaxing.

This is our new camping setup. We were able to pare down our camping supplies enough to get what we needed in this small car. We also got new camping mats, since our cots were too big and heavy. It was actually nice, not having to deal with a lot of stuff.

It did rain during the night, but not to heavy, and the tent did keep up dry.

The feature of the park is this waterfall, along with the very inviting looking swimming hole next to it. It's a very short walk to this swimming area. I'm sure it is very popular. We were not able to reserve a campsite for any of the summer weekends. There is a day use area, but it's a bit of a drive just to go swimming.
We would like to come back to this campground. It's clean, friendly, quiet, beautiful, and has showers as well.

Here is a short video of the falls area, to give a better idea.
