Notice the nice view and weather.
The buildings are in good shape, but not open to the public. There is a reservable picnic shelter that is pretty large, with water and electricity.
Although the buildings are locked, you can peek in the windows to get an idea of the layout. This part of the trail we took just went from the parking lot, to the buildings, and then took the trail that goes to the RV parking, just to get our steps in.
The other trailhead is by the bathrooms, and heads uphill most of the way. It's not too steep, well maintained, and wanders through the forest, where we saw plenty of mushrooms, a newt, and huge leaves (see photo).

Every once in a while, we would come into a clear space where we were treated to a nice view. Although it was cloudy, and there were a few sprinkles, the occasional sun was warm enough to entice some of us to take off a layer.
Over this year of hiking, we've had very good luck with the weather. Even on days where it rained, the rain would stop when we got to the trail, and start up when we were done.
Today was not so lucky.
The last half of the downhill hike was very wet. How wet you ask? There's video.
So wet that we cancelled the other hike we had planned at Beazell Memorial Forest nearby, so we could go home and get dry and warm.
In spite of the rain, this is a nice hike, and I enjoyed learning a bit more about the history near where I live. Would I come back? Yes. On a clear day.
